The first official trailer for Peter Billingsley’s ‘Couples Retreat’

Universal has released the first trailer for ‘Couples Retreat’ Apple. Judging by the trailer this film looks very promising and is a strong contender for possibly one of the funniest films of the year. ‘Couples Retreat’ is about four couples, Kristen Bell and Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis, Vince Vaughn and Malin Akerman, and Faizon Love and Kali Hawk. One couple wants to work on their marriage problems, but the other three are forced into participating in the retreat activities even if they rather not.

‘Couples Retreat’ is the debut film of first-time director Peter Billingsley (who many of you will remember as Ralphie in ‘A Christmas Story’. Billingsley was a producer on ‘Iron Man’, ‘Four Christmases’ and ‘The Break-up’. The script of ‘Couples Retreat’ is written by ‘Iron Man 2’ director Jon Favreau, who also wrote the script to ‘Swingers’.

Look for ‘Couples Retreat’ to hit theaters on October 9th.

Every thing about this film looks very promising. It’s good to see Vince Vaughn and  Jon Favreau partnered up again. The rest of the cast has already proven themselves capable for this type of role in other TV shows and movies. While the setting is very similar to ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshal’, it is a setting does lend it’s self to believable comedic situations. This film looks like it just can’t fail with so many things going for it.
